Steam Cleaning VS Chem-Dry, Springfield MO
What’s the difference?
Chem-Dry would like you to think they are completely different from those bad steam-cleaning companies, but the fact is they are steam cleaning. Traditional steam cleaners us high pressure water between 200-230 F which is spayed down on the carpet ( after a preconditioner is applied) and extracted with a wand. And so do they, the only difference is the type of wand chem-dry uses. Their wand is a rotating machine, which is available to any one. It’s not their own proprietary design and in fact many companies use them in addition to the traditional wand. This rotating unit has jets that spray down the steam and vacuum ports that extract. This unit is made by Hydromaster and has some advantages and some disadvantages. The advantage is that it is easier on the cleaning technician once it is hauled into the home, providing less fatigue. The down side is that it doesn’t do well against the wall and in tight areas nor can it get the stairs. It also applies a lot of agitation that can increase wear. It amazes me at how misleading their advertisements are in their process when they are in fact steam cleaning. Here is what they say about their process VS Steam cleaning.
Hydromaster RX20 ChemDry RX20“
Traditional steam cleaning saturates your carpet with an excessive amount of water filled with soaps and detergents. So you’re left with wet carpets for 1-2 days”. Absolutely not true! We use NO soaps in our rinse solution at Ultra Carpet Care. And don’t be scared by the 1-2 day dry time, that too is a scare tactic. We both use the same truck-mounted system which will pull out every bit of the moisture that their system can remove. If your carpets took that long to dry you’ve called an inexperienced carpet cleaner who either didn’t know how to use the equipment or had no experience in proper cleaning methods. Her again is another company trying to set themselves apart, but they are using the same meathod of cleaning that they are criticizing. Don’t be a victim of advertising hype. Just call on the company that offers no slight of hand gimmicks, many years of experience, competitive pricing, and the best guarantee in the business.
